PRISM - Newport Award
The PRISM-Newport Award of Excellence is awarded annually both to a graduating senior and a graduate student (within 1-1/2 years of graduation) who have demonstrated high scholastic achievement and also shown high potential for leadership in the field of photonics, electro-optics or optoelectonic materials.
The award, beyond the honor itself, comes with $500 for the graduate and $250 for the undergraduate winner, as donated by Newport. Students from all departments are eligible. This undergraduate award will be presented at the School of Engineering ceremonies on Class Day, May 30, 2006.
Please send thesis or project report, resumes, letters of recommendation, and copies of publications to Kim Hegelbach by Friday, April29th. A PRISM faculty committee will make the decision.
